It All Begins Here
Understanding that, “your life belongs to you, your passions create your identity, boundaries protect your foundation, and “vibrations” are your way of describing how people affect the energy and stability around you.”
Vibrations
Outside of your personal life, your work life, your family life, and your friends' lives, there is your own life.
Not the life you are living for everyone else.
The life that makes you, you.
The things you do that make you unique. The things that fill your heart with love and excitement. Those things may not always be someone else's favorite things, and that's okay. That's what makes you who you are.
You are one in eight billion.
Think about that.
There is no one else exactly like you. Your hobbies, your love, your passions, your interests, your weird little habits, and the things that make you light up inside—those are the things that make you thrive. They become your purpose, your drive. They are part of what makes you feel alive.
But if your passion involves other people, you have to be open to everyone else having an opinion.
Maybe you'll have to listen to opinions that you don't feel passionate about. Maybe you'll hear things you completely disagree with. But why does that have to matter?
If you build your foundation on principles, morals, ethics, and boundaries, other people's passions and pains don't have to become yours.
You become solid.
You become stable.
People come and go. Sometimes you get to choose who stays in your life, and sometimes you don't. There will be people who oppose who you are, how you see yourself, or what you believe. But their disagreement does not diminish what you value.
Holding onto your integrity is important for self-love.
I promise.
Your value is your worth. Just like knowledge is power, knowing your own value gives you something no one else can take away.
Some people operate at on lower vibrations. That is them. But sometimes, they aren't open to other people's ideas or opinions. They don't listen. They react.
With those people, you almost have to look down.
No, not because you're better than them.
Because you are choosing to be the bigger person.
I often view these people with toddler eyes.
Think about it. Imagine you're dealing with a toddler who is having a complete meltdown. They're screaming. They're crying. They're throwing themselves on the floor because they didn't get what they wanted.
You don't necessarily take their behavior personally.
You understand that they're having a hard time regulating themselves.
Sometimes, adults aren't much different.
So, I almost view them as a small child.
Honestly, it's very effective.
It helps with your reaction.
Unless you like to hit children. That's a whole different chapter.
But seriously, when we choose to react or overshare just to get our point across, sometimes we fall into the trap of manipulation. Or, in other words, an elevated heart rate and chronic stress lingering around after.
And if you know that someone's behavior is causing you physical and emotional stress, why continue giving them access to your peace?
Reacting often means you're reacting to someone else's vibration.
Yes, I believe that could be a real thing—if your heart desires.
Listen.
Most people vibrate at a lower frequency.
Almost like throwing a rock into mud.
You get that good hype as it goes up, and then—
thud.
Down.
Up and down.
Not stable.
Right, anyways.
If you can relate to that, I'm sure we've all been there.
But how often do you see a hummingbird? That little guy is buzzing. High and fast.
Stable and clean.
Solid.
Those people are really hard to come by, too.
Those are the people you keep close. The people you hold near and dear to your heart.
Did you know hummingbirds can remember faces?
And look at that.
Those people care, too—just like that hummingbird somehow knows you're the person who is going to fill the bird bath for him.
Those people come into your life, and if you choose them, they can become part of your lessons in integrity, too.
That's a choice you make.
You really only have a few options.
One: Don't engage. Don't react.
Two: Mirror them.
But mirroring someone for a long period of time isn't good for your health if you have to see them all the time.
Some people are very good at hiding their vibrations. They can hide who they actually are.
Two-faced? Mental health struggles? Childhood adversity? Trauma? An accident? A near-death experience? Abuse?
Those are just a handful of things that can shape someone, influence how they see the world, and affect the way they interact with other people.
But here's the thing:
They still choose what they do with it.
They can choose to be one way or the other.
Some people live in the future, filled with anxiety.
Some people live in the past, carrying depression and pain.
And some people live now.
Living now means watching things grow.
Slow.
Solid.
Stable.
Ready for adventure.
Living in the present and being grateful for the things you have is empowering. And not everyone can live in gratitude for a long time.
But I'm sure we can.
Think about waking up when you were in high school and realizing it was summer break.
That feeling.
Or the feeling you had as a child when someone bought you ice cream and it came on what looked like the biggest cone in the entire world.
For that moment, you were grateful.
Nothing else mattered.
Or think about stopping and looking into your dog's eyes. There is something about it.
Every day, every minute, they seem to exist in this little world filled with dopamine, gratitude, and love.
You are loved. Your opinion matters. You are purposeful.
And then you meet people. Passion or not, that is a thing.
When you first meet someone, you don't necessarily meet them.
You meet their ambassador. Their representative. Their alter. This isn't really a scientific fact. It's more of a personal theory.
People can almost become a guarded version of themselves when you first meet them. They put up a wall. They show you the version of themselves they think is safest to show.
And we may never know whether it's an alter or a façade.
We're not talking witchcraft here. We're talking psychology.
Vibrations aren't something you learn from a textbook.
You learn them through intuition. Through observation. Through experience. Through paying attention.
You don't sit in your bed waiting for someone to magically get to know you or understand you.
You have to speak. You have to communicate. You have to set boundaries.
You have to show people what makes you, you.
Understanding vibrations is a skill.
It's not something you learn overnight.
If your passion is people, then yes, you have to learn how to read the room. You have to learn when to address the elephant in the room.
But is it always your purpose to teach other people your boundaries?
No.
Your boundaries can be communicated, but you cannot force someone to respect them.
And if boundaries aren't communicated and reciprocated, how will you ever know whether you actually vibe together?
People come in all different shapes and sizes.
So do personalities.
There are so many different ways people communicate, connect, love, and experience the world. Some people are social. Some are introverted. Some are extroverted. Some need constant connection, while others need space.
They all have different love languages and passions that make them unique.
Instead of learning someone quickly and deciding that you know their representative, you have to step back and really get to know them.
People shouldn't fall short of learning their own capabilities. But they should also test the integrity of their relationships.
Friendship.
Love.
Relationships.
Even a simple meeting between two people.
You learn through trial and error. Not everyone is going to understand what makes someone else tick.
But if we cannot communicate, how will we ever learn each other?
Putting on a play or acting a certain way because someone else's vibration is low doesn't mean you should water yourself down. It means you should become aware of who you surround yourself with.
You may not be able to choose who is in your life.
You may not be able to choose who you encounter.
But you can learn to get to know them before deciding whether this person is worth stepping on your values for. And here's something I've learned:
The past doesn't always make people who they are.
But it can give you insight into how to approach them.
People can choose to stay stuck in the mud.
Or they can choose to become a buzzing hummingbird.
You build your own life.
You choose your own happiness.
You are the foundation.
I promise.
You don't need anyone else to make you whole.
You are complete as you are.
